your story matters.
let's talk.

You don't need someone who read a book about hard seasons.
You need someone who's been through a few.

I'm Sally Edwards, a Life Consultant who lives in Birmingham, Alabama.

Most of the people I work with are in their twenties and thirties — sharp, capable, doing all the right things on paper — and still asking, quietly,
is this it? They're still wondering how to build a life, navigate relationships, and figure out what they actually want, instead of what they were supposed to want.

I don't have a "process" for you to go through (thank goodness!). I have forty years of sitting with people in exactly this spot, and helping them navigate through it.

If any of this is true for you
  • You're good at your job and still can't shake the feeling that you're improvising the rest of your life
  • You want to be known — really known — but you're not sure you trust anyone with the full picture
  • You keep ending up in the same relationship patterns and you're tired of pretending you don't notice
  • You grew up with faith, or wanted to, and got hurt somewhere along the way by the church or the people in it
  • You've never really had someone in your corner who felt safe, warm, and unshockable — someone more like a mother than a mentor
If even one of those lands, I'd like to talk with you.

What I offerLife consulting is a warm, honest, one-on-one space to slow down and actually look at your life — not to fix you, because you're not broken, but to help you:
  • Feel heard. Really heard. Many people tell me this alone changes something in them.
  • Understand your patterns. The experiences that shaped you didn't come from nowhere. Once you can see them clearly, they lose their grip.
  • Reconnect with parts of yourself you've lost touch with, or maybe never fully knew.
  • Gain clarity about the path ahead — not a script, but a direction.
  • Move forward with confidence, instead of staying stuck asking the same questions on repeat.

Why work with meI bring 40 years of experience in university teaching, program development, and administration — all of it built around one throughline: helping individuals, families, and communities live better. My academic foundation is in Human Development and Family Studies, supplemented with extensive graduate coursework in Marriage and Family Therapy.
But more than my credentials, I bring decades of sitting with people in the middle of their real lives — their questions, their crises, their turning points — and helping them find their footing again.

So you might be wondering exactly what a Life Consultant is or does. A Life Consultant is someone who comes alongside you to help you look at your life, what’s working, what’s not, where you feel stuck or unfulfilled and help you gain clarity - whether at work, in relationships, or determining career options.

Then you can move forward with confidence towards the life you want — in fact, becoming the real you. Life consulting involves recognizing patterns, reframing situations and shifting perspectives, replacing negative ways of thinking and functioning with positives. We’ll look at connecting with your emotions, not abandoning your heart, but rather giving your heart a voice and restoring hope.  As you determine what you want, I can help you figure out a plan for how to get there.

I’d love to talk with you, so if you’re ready to move forward in your life, contact me.

What Others Say...

"My conversations with Sally gave me comfort in ways I didn’t even know I needed. But more than that, I could be completely genuine and open with her, more than I am with my closest friends and family."
"I know in my heart that I can attribute most (if not all) of that confidence to you. Over the past months you have shown me that there is strength in vulnerability. You have shown me how to accept new callings and how to expand my comfort zone. Your intuition is so powerful. I think that you can see me and my experiences with such empathy and understanding so much so that I feel comfortable sharing even the darkest parts of my life, without fear of judgment."
"Speaking with you was the first time I truly felt heard by an adult and it made me feel like what I had to say was important because you listened and spoke to me so intentionally like all you wanted to get out of our conversation was to understand the real me. I vividly remember the way you made me feel and I have strived to only carry out relationships with people who have made me feel that way and in turn I have tried to intentionally get to know others beyond their surface level."
